How It Works
Ordering steel products from Metal Mates for your Newcastle project is straightforward, and we've kept the process simple so you spend less time chasing materials and more time on the job.
Step 01
Consultation and Quote
Getting a quote from Metal Mates starts with a conversation, by phone, email or in person at our yard. Tell us what your Newcastle project needs, and our team will talk through the right steel products, sizes and finishes for the job, then put together a quote with realistic timeframes. If you're not sure exactly what you need, that's exactly what the team is there for.
Step 02
Order Processing and Preparation
Once you confirm your order, Metal Mates pull the stock, cut it to size where needed, and check it over before it goes out the door. For custom fabrication materials, we'll confirm sizing and finish with you before cutting. Every Newcastle order leaves us properly checked, so there are no surprises when it lands on site.

After delivery, the team's still here if you have questions, need extra material, or want advice on looking after exposed steelwork in Newcastle's coastal air. FAQs about Roofing Supply in Newcastle
How much do roofing supplies cost in Newcastle?
Cost depends on the profile, coating and quantity you need. Metal Mates gives every Newcastle customer a detailed quote up front covering material and delivery.
What is the best roofing material for Newcastle's coastal suburbs?
For coastal Newcastle suburbs like Merewether, Bar Beach and Redhead, marine grade steel or Colorbond Ultra is generally the better choice, since standard coatings can corrode faster in salt spray zones. Metal Mates helps you match the right exposure classification to your specific suburb, so the manufacturer warranty holds up and the roof performs for its full expected life.
How fast can I get roofing materials delivered in Newcastle?
Stocked items including standard Colorbond, Zincalume, common flashings and guttering can be delivered same day or next day across the Newcastle metro area. Custom cut to length sheets and specialty marine grade products typically take one to two weeks depending on manufacturer schedules. Metal Mates confirms exact delivery timeframes at the quoting stage so your build schedule stays on track.
Do I need a licensed supplier for Colorbond and Zincalume roofing?
Working with a licensed supplier matters because it's what keeps your BlueScope Colorbond or Zincalume manufacturer warranty valid. Metal Mates is a licensed roofing supplier that helps Newcastle customers select the correct exposure grade and installation detailing for their site, so the warranty actually stands up if you ever need to make a claim.
What roofing profile is best for my project?
The right profile depends on your roof's span, pitch and the look you're after, with Corrugated, Trimdek, Custom Orb and Clip-Lok each suited to different applications. Metal Mates talks through your specific Newcastle site and project type before recommending a profile, so you're not paying for more sheet strength or a finish you don't actually need.
