Why Local Customers Choose Metal Mates

01

Nearly 30 Years in the Hunter

We've been locally owned and operated in Cessnock since 1997, which means our name means something in our community. Customers know who they're dealing with, not just a call centre interstate.

02

Everything Under One Roof

From steel bars and RHS to fencing, roofing, aluminium, welding supplies and custom sheds, we stock the lot. One trip to Metal Mates usually beats chasing five suppliers around town.

03

Staff Who Actually Know Their Steel

Our team answers the phone, tracks down what you need and never says "can't help you." Customers keep telling us it's the knowledgeable service that brings them back every time.

04

Competitive Pricing, No Fuss

We price to compete with the big warehouses, without the runaround. Customers regularly tell us they found better quality for less here than anywhere else they checked around the region.

05

Cutting and Fabrication On Site

Need steel cut to size or fabricated for the job? We handle it onsite, so you're not waiting on an outside contractor or paying extra to get material job-ready quickly.

06

Reliable Delivery Across the Hunter Region

We deliver across Cessnock, Newcastle, the Central Coast, Maitland and beyond, so your materials turn up on time. No more juggling pickups around a job that's already running to schedule.

Fencing Supplies in Newcastle: Steel, Aluminium, Chain Wire and Rural Fencing from Metal Mates

If you're after fencing supplies in Newcastle that can actually handle what this coast throws at them, you're talking to the right mob. Metal Mates has supplied the Hunter Region since 1997, and we know Newcastle's fencing needs aren't one-size-fits-all. Salt air chews through cheap coatings, bushfire-prone pockets call for tougher materials, and rural blocks out towards the Hunter Valley need fencing built to handle stock and weather. We're locally owned and operated, based in Cessnock, and our team is always happy to help you find the right supplies for your property.

Why Newcastle Trusts Metal Mates

Newcastle property owners have been coming back to Metal Mates for fencing supplies since 1997, and it comes down to stock, standards and service they can rely on. We're locally owned and operated, serving Newcastle, Maitland, Port Stephens and the Hunter Valley, and our own fleet delivers fencing supplies to your property without relying on a third-party carrier.

  • Locally owned and operated in the Hunter Region since 1997, not a franchise or a call centre
  • Same-day pickup available on stocked items so your fencing project stays on schedule
  • Products comply with Australian Standards, including AS2343 for galvanised fencing wire and AS/NZS 2312.2:2014 for corrosion-resistant coatings

Our own delivery fleet carries loads up to 11 tonnes and 11.2 metres, direct to your property

Our Comprehensive Fencing Range

At Metal Mates, we know fencing is more than a boundary. It's part of your property's security and its street appeal, so we stock a comprehensive range built to suit whatever you're fencing, not a one-size-fits-all product line. Whether you need robust farm gates, elegant Colorbond fencing or practical chain wire, we've got you covered, and every product we sell conforms to the relevant Australian Standard so it holds up to Newcastle's conditions.

Our team is dedicated to helping you find the right fencing solution, not just selling you what's on the shelf. We stock enough variety that every customer, from a homeowner fencing a pool to a landholder fencing a paddock, finds exactly what suits their application, with the same blend of function and style whether the job is rural or residential.
